Steve Kessler

Steve Kessler has been providing less-than-full-time CFO services to private equity portfolio companies since 2007 and to entrepreneurs since 2001. Since founding Kessler Consulting in 2001, he has been the part-time CFO of ten different businesses and completed projects for eleven additional businesses. These projects have included acquisition due diligence, business liquidations, system implementations, budget model creation, financial process evaluation, lean visual management, CFO mentoring,and entrepreneur mentoring.

Prior to founding Kessler Consulting, he worked as a supply chain management consultant for the Revere Group, a Chicago based regional consulting firm.

​Steve is certified as a “Lean Leader” by the Milwaukee School of Engineering and has participated on lean implementation projects at four different companies.

His career began at Arthur Andersen. Following Arthur Andersen, he was the controller or CFO of four different manufacturing businesses.

Christopher Van Den Elzen

With experience in both Fortune 500 and start up environments, Christopher has more than twenty years of experience in domestic and international operations and financial management for manufacturing companies. From strategy through implementation and management to reporting, Chris provides a balanced and thorough approach to financial management that keeps clients’ actions aligned with their goals.

Matthew Newman, CPA

Matt’s most recent experience prior to joining Kessler Consulting was as a cost accountant at Neenah Foundry where he used his problem solving skills to develop inventory policies, improve inventory accuracy and improve the financial forecasting process. While at Neenah Foundry, Matt received Lean/Six Sigma training and participated on inventory reduction/accuracy Kaizen events. Matt began his career in public accounting where he focused on manufacturing clients.

Matt joined Kessler Consulting in early 2015. He has assisted on a wide variety of assignments including acquisition support and post acquisition integration, interim Controller, and budget model preparation for two different metal oriented manufacturing companies.

Bruce Bodart, CPA

Bruce recently became a Kessler Consulting CFO after a long career of full time Controller, CFO and President positions. Most recently, he served a manufacturer of plastic injection molded parts for OEMs for eight years, first as CFO, then as President. During his tenure he increased inventory turns, reduced debt, improved financial statement health and upgraded hardware and software systems throughout the company. He was able to negotiate favorable debt terms to help improve the company’s health. Bruce’s experience is diverse. He has held Controller level positions in home building, manufacturing, and media companies. Bruce began his career as a Transportation Corp officer in the US Army.

Cindy B. Weiland-Wehrley, CPA

Cindy’s Kessler Consulting client assignments have included Palermo’s Pizza, Penzeys Spices, Carma Laboratories and a metal stamping company. Prior to Kessler Consulting she held treasurer and assistant controller responsibilities at Chr. Hansen, Inc., a manufacturer of food ingredients. Cindy is a very capable project manager of ERP system implementations.

Liz Brener

Liz received her MBA from the University of Kentucky. She has provided services to Kessler Consulting clients for the past six years working with clients in food processing and in metal machining and fabrication. She is becoming an expert on sales and use tax compliance.​

Kim Palmer

Kim has been a consultant for the last seven years. She was a controller of two different Milwaukee companies and has worked as a project manager implementing Microsoft Great Plans ERP systems. Prior to her career in consulting, Kim worked in financial planning and analysis for Rockwell Automation for nearly 20 years.

Kristy Hermes

Kristy has worked with Kessler Consulting since 2004. She has been a “one-day-a-week Controller” for a small manufacturing firm since 2005. Before Kessler Consulting, she was a financial analyst at Chr. Hansen, Inc. and began her career as an auditor at Clifton Gunderson.

Barbara J. Maloney

Barb began her career at Arthur Young. Over 33 years she held the positions of accounting manager, controller, treasurer, and VP of finance covering accounting, HR and IT at a multi-company, multi-state Milwaukee-area based manufacturer of light construction equipment.
